Support our intrepid leader, Karen Kenney, director of the San Fernando Valley Patriots, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, as she guides through a rollicking good time filled with laughs and entertainment while tracing the history of American exceptionalism. Karen presents a cogent historical perspective while providing all of us with an evening of fun and laughter. The event will be at the Sherman Oaks Women's Club, 4808 Kester Ave., Sherman Oaks, 91403. Cost is $10.
SFV Patriots Monthly Meeting: Join us from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at Denny's Restaurant, 8330 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Canoga Park, CA 91304. RSVP to the hotline: 818-881-7176. Meetings are free. Suggested donations are to cover event expenses. The 2012 monthly meetings are:
Angel City Big Band: Come listen and dance to the sounds of real music from 8 to 11 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month at American Legion Post 826, 5320 Fallbrook Ave., Woodland Hills, on Fallbrook Avenue, just north of Ventura Boulevard. Cost is $15 per person, $25 per couple. There will be a full cash bar. For $5, get a spaghetti dinner. Other food and snacks will also be available.
Sidewalk support for U.S. soldiers: Each Sunday at 4 p.m. (for about an hour), you can show your patriot colors (literally) by joining Duane C. Buckley, commander of The American Legion, Woodland Hills, Post 826, at the southeast corner of Victory and Topanga Canyon boulevards. They have military banners aplenty, but could use some boots on the ground. For info, contact buckysan1961@yahoo.com.
"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government -- lest (government) come to dominate our lives and interests."

We invite you to join the San Fernando Valley Patriots if you stand with the American principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, free-market enterprise and individual liberty.
We ask you to learn American history in the documents of its founding: the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.
San Fernando Valley Patriots, Inc. gratefully accepts donations.
We ask you to act to protect our Republic through the expression of our First Amendment rights as a citizen and as a "new Guard."
The Declaration of Independence warned that each generation must secure that Governments derive their "just powers from the consent of the governed."
We ask you to copy, sign and mail the "Declaration of 2010" to each of your elected officials to remind them by whose consent they govern.
We ask you to contact the San Fernando Valley Patriots as a member through this web site for a focus on local and state issues and to expedite communication on our sponsored events.
Dear GOP Leadership:
